Great area for a bushwalk, run or a cycle. The twilight tours are excellent, but expensive. The eastern bettongs are very cute at night - if you're quiet and look around they'll let you get quite close.

Well laid out bike and walking paths, easy walking.

A beautiful conservation ark on the northern border of Canberra. Echidnas are easy to spot (there's usually a couple within 100 yards of the main gate) and there's plenty more wildlife to see - especially at dawn and dusk. The night tours are also brilliant. Bring your kids and your camera.
